I am a registered gunsmith and so is my wife I have my conceled carry as does she and we will never be without our H&K'S.I have a usp 40 and she has the compact 9mm I have had just about everything under the sun and like the hk more than any including the many glocks, browning hi power's, and other pistols I have had even the way over priced Kimbers. If I had to pack a gun and the HK wasnt an option I would go with a olive drab green springfeild 1911 they are super super nice guns but a little to heavy for my tastes for everyday carry. Then there is also the super nice and reliable sig's I had a p226 that had around 20,000 rounds through it and it never gave me any problem's.Hope this helps man if you need more help just ask.

syco133> Right now I'm set on the HK P2000 9mm DA/SA version so I'll most likely end up getting that. And my second gun that I wanna get is still up in the air. But after checking out some mags and browsing thru the net, the springfield XD 9mm looks good also and its fairly priced @ $514.00 msrp. So either Springfield, Kimber, Para-Ordinance, Sig Sauer.

The second gun would be a toss up between the springfeild and the sig If you want to always be shure it will do what you want and when you want it to I would give the sig the edge over the xd9.

syco133> Thanks for the infos. Sig Sauer has some real good guns too.
I guess the only way to decide on what I want is to go to a gun shop and actually look and try it out.
By the way do you have a store or sell firearms?
Thanks again.

I did run a gun shop but the insurance was so expensive I could no longer compete with some of the other way bigger gun shops around so I turned in my ffl number. If you want to see what the selling price of a gun is in the real world not in a freakin book go to www.gunbroker.com its like ebay but you have to have a ffl number to buy there but if you want a gun from the site most shops only charge around 10 bucks for the use of there ffl number .

Syco, Do you have an opinion on the cheaper Bersa Firearms? I was looking at a Bersa Thunder 380 the other day and the price is in my range but I am not very familliar with the name.

Can't go wrong with H&Ks at all. Excellent quality weapons.

I am a CZ guy myself, and LOVE my CZ75B in .40, and always highly recommend them.

I also always advise going to a local range, and shooting anything they have available for rent. The best and most highly recommended handgun might just not feel right to you once you have it in your hands, and a gun that isn't comfortable for you is a gun that doesn't get used.

The HK's are great guns, just not to my liking. I'm more of a 1911 guy, my current carry gun is a customized Springfield V10 1911. I have owned or own at least one of everything... (Well not quite..) S&W, Springfield, Glock, Kahr, Ruger, Desert Eagle, etc... The OD Springfield is one gun I truely regret selling..I have as of late gotten into some longer range rifle shooting. Here are some pics of my latest..

Ruger P-89, pre-ban. 2 15 round mags and a 30 rounder for S&G. also an old Star Super 9mm Largo. kind of a pain to find ammo for but it has a great feel and shoots straight.

The H&K is an exelent choice. I had a USP .45 for a long time, but I have to agree with Unruely, I picked up a Kimber a couple years ago and eventualy sold the H&K. Long live the 1911 !!

Anyone hunt with a hand gun? If not you should try it, it`s great. I havent shot at a deer with a rifle in about seven years Any Gun owners here? (17). Lone Eagle in 308WIN and 22 Hornet barrel for the small stuff. Dreaming of an XP100 someday.

Unruely, whats your honest opinion on the Striker ? I`ve been considering one for awhile now just never seen one in person.
