Devil May Cry 5 Secret Missions Guide (2024)

The action-packed adventures of Dante and Nero returned this year with Devil May Cry 5, which also includes multiple secret missions. Like previous titles in the Devil May Cry franchise, the goal of the game is to hack and slash through horde after horde of demons by using a variety of combo attacks and weapons at the main characters' disposal. Although the primary goal of Devil May Cry 5 is to stop the demon Urizen, stomping other demons into the ground is all part of gameplay.

But there's so much more to the Devil May Cry franchise than just killing demons. One of the things that players love most about the franchise is that games in the series often include secret missions. Players can look long and hard for these missions, although sometimes it's easy to stumble upon them. Each secret mission offers a task to the player; sometimes it's all about killing targets, but other times it's about collecting items. However, the rewards for completing these secret missions are great: players who complete these tasks in Devil May Cry 5 get Red Orbs and a Blue Orb Fragment.

First, however, players need to know where to find these secret missions in Devil May Cry 5 and how to access them. Fortunately, here's a handy guide to find every secret mission in Devil May Cry 5, as well as tips on how to complete each one.

Devil May Cry 5:Secret Mission 1

The first secret mission in Devil May Cry 5 is the easiest to find. It's part of the tutorial for Mission 2 in the game. The playable character for this mission is Nero, and the location is Qliphoth. During Mission 2, players are inside a mansion: one of the bedrooms will have this secret mission. To unlock it, players must line up an inscription located within the room and into the hall. Do this by standing behind the bed and looking out. The mission is simple: kill all demons within 90 seconds. Once completed, the player is rewarded with a Blue Orb Fragment. Here's a tip: take out the flying demons first as they can heal other demons.

The second Devil May Cry 5 secret mission is one that the player will need to track down. The playable character is Nero, and this mission is available during Mission 3 after swinging across the sinking rooftops. Find the entrance to the sewer, where Nero must destroy the Demon Tree Roots and the Demon Tree Blood Clots. This will give the player access to a staircase with a floating orb. Don't use the orb, though; instead, jump to the bottom floor, stand in the doorway, and look up to see glowing red markers. This will launch the second secret mission. The goal is not to allow any Red Empusa to escape. The best tip for this is to use Devil Breaker to kill as many Red Empusa as possible before they have a chance to get away.

Devil May Cry 5 Secret Mission 3

The third secret mission takes some planning. This one becomes available during Mission 4, while V is the playable character. The idea is to unlock enough Devil Trigger to summon Nightmare to bring down a wall. Keeping that in mind, continue through Mission 4 until arriving at the battle arena close to some tall buildings. Be sure to pick up the Nidhogg Hatchling. Then there's a section ofDevil May Cry 5in a warehouse, as well as a building, that has a giant mural on it. Stand near the mural and pull the Devil Trigger; Nightmare will tear down the wall, making a new path.

Go through the hole and toward the bottom right to find another Niddhogg Hatchling. Jump over the wall behind it and battle more enemies. Summon Nightmare again to break through another wall. Go through thatand toward the Niddhoggs. A new route will open up to show stairs. Go up the stairs and look over the ledge to unlock the thirdDevil May Cry 5 secret mission. The goal of this mission is to collect all the red orbs within a certain time limit. Be sure to take advantage of the Quickplay ability.

The fourthDevil May Cry 5 secret mission will also require some planning to use V's Devil Trigger until Nightmare becomes available. In Mission 5, a giant tentacle keeps attacking from the ceiling, and V needs to fend that off while destroying more Demon Tree Roots. V will eventually end up in an arena along the bottom of a ship. Look for some scaffolding there and use Nightmare to smash through it. Go through that area and climb some stairs that lead to a crane; the next secret mission is at the top of it.

The goal of this mission is to kill all demons without taking a single hit or any damage. Use Nightmare as often as possible with the Promotion ability. For players without that ability, use Griffon's back and attack button while Shadow finishes enemies off. Also use Griffon's jump abilities, too, to get out of the way of harm when necessary.

The fifthDevil May Cry 5 secret mission is in Mission 8, with Nero as the playable character. Progress through most of the level, but look for the second lava waterfall. Ride the rock to the top and keep an eye out for a ledge that has orbs floating near it. Jump to the ledge and use those orbs until you get to another ledge. Jump down and head to the center of that area, then turn around to see the next symbol that launches the secret mission. This one is pretty easy; you have to get to the goal without touching the ground. Use Air Hike and Wire Snatch 2 to get to the finish line.

Devil May Cry Secret Mission 6

Mission 9 brings another secret mission, this time with V. And as before, V will need to use enough Devil Trigger to summon Nightmare. Go through the main mission level and look for a series of pillars. The quickest way to get to the secret mission is to smash through the wall there, but this is also accessible by exploring the catacombs. Finish the fight there and go left; there's an awning blocked by Demon Tree Roots. Look at the roots and activate Devil Trigger to summon Nightmare to burst through the ground and make a new path. Run up the back, jump on to a ledge, and look back to unlock the sixth Devil May Cry 5secret mission. The goal of this mission is to get rid of all the demons in 20 seconds or less. Activate Devil Trigger, make sure that Griffon and Shadow are enhanced and go all out.

Dante finally gets his shot at a Devil May Cry 5secret mission during Mission 10. And, as figures, this one is tricky to get to and to complete. Mission 10 has a series of doors that close after a certain amount of time, and, of course, one of those doors leads to the secret mission. Around the third arena area, there are two doors. Quickly kill the enemies there and go through the door to the right before it closes. Go up the steps to the very top and look up to unlock the secret mission. This mission's objective is to aim for each enemy's weak point and take them down with one bullet. Expect to fail a few times before completing this one.

The eighthDevil May Cry 5 secret mission comes up with Dante in Mission 11. Dante will go through a series of gates in the ruins of a building, but don't miss the local Demon Tree Root; destroy that to create a new path that goes up. Jump up and line up some wall remains with the fragments of wall behind it to access the secret mission. The objective here is to maintain an S Stylish Rank, and the key is to have as many weapons as possible to mix skills and abilities to do so.

Mission 12 is where players will find the next secret mission, also with Dante. After moving the statue, a series of stairs will appear that lead to tunnels. Go through these and after jumping on a set of stone stairs, look for a ledge behind Dante that he can jump on. Do so and look back towards the stairs to get the symbol that leads to the next secret mission. The goal is to stay in the air for more than 15 seconds, so use Dante's skills, such as Air Hike and Enemy Step. It's also good to level up Gunslinger and Trickster. Lastly, be sure to make use of Dante's Cavaliere combos.

Mission 14 is where players can find the nextDevil May Cry 5 secret mission as V, who will get a message that Nero and Dante are fighting below after regaining control of Nightmare, Griffon, and Shadow. Destroy two more Demon Tree Roots; jump over the ledge that contained the second root and have V look behind him to access the next secret mission. The goal is to get to the target without touching the ground. To do this, be mindful of timing and using double jump as well as attacking to get extra air time and using Griffon to glide. If the Promotion ability is unlocked, though, all players need to do is summon Nightmare to ride it to the goal.

Mission 15 offers the next secret mission as Nero. Pick a path through the level and take it to a time statue. Look behind the statue and jump down to fight a pack of Punch Line Devil Breakers. Earn a high style ranking and then send out a rocket. When the rocket returns, mount it by holding the Devil Breaker button. Follow the track and keep going up: at the top is the 11th secret mission. The mission is to head straight for the goal in a set amount of time. If you have it, use Nero's Flap Top ability. If not, take advantage of Gerbera and Nero's double jump to quickly climb up to the Blue Orb Fragment.

Devil May Cry 5 Secret Mission 12

Devil May Cry 5 Secret Missions Guide (12)

The lastDevil May Cry 5 secret mission is during Mission 16 with Dante. After the third arena fight in this level, there is a ledge with glowing eggs lining the walls. Approach that ledge and drop down to the highest ledge on the right. Go left until landing on a ledge with a red orb stem on it. Search for a hole in the wall with a ledge outside it and a larger red orb stem on it. Jump towards that ledge and slowly go down each ledge to the left of the first one you found until you see an alcove. Go into the alcove and find the position that will unlock the final symbol that designates the last secret mission. This will also earn a Secrets Exposed achievement. The goal here is to collect a set amount of red orbs, and for that, the Dr. Faust skill should be at least level 3, preferably at level 4. Use the Gunslinger G stance, lock on to the enemy, and shoot it to earn the most orbs possible.
