Excellent App, but not yet the complete package.

- Pros
- Tabs! Fast. Folder Sizes. Convenient. Handles large folders well, much better than Explorer++. Going into and back out of large folders (with thousands of subfolders) is faster than Windows Explorer. Wildcard selection.
- Cons
- No Help or on-line manual (what is 'Select Similar'?).The forum on the ExplorerXP site seems to be broken, so there isn't any way to request new features right now. I hope Nikolay checks here sometimes :)1. Along with My Computer and Desktop, there should be a Network button. Network locations can be dragged into ExplorerXP from Explorer, so it's not a show stopper, but it's reason I can't do without Windows Explorer.2. Should be able to select folder columns from the complete list of file attributes, like in Windows Explorer. ExplorerXP only allows name, size, size on disk, type, date modified, and attributes.3. Tabs that can be re-arranged (for more logical grouping).4. Support for more than one ExplorerXP window (although the Groups somewhat overcomes this limitation).5. Folder size on/off on a per tab basis.6. Automatic resizing-to-fit columns.7. Ability to re-arrange columns.
- Summary
- Great App, but doesn't make Windows Explorer obsolete just yet. I'll be using it on a regular basis though to bring together my various music folders into one convenient window. Some more suggestions (wouldn't fit above).8. Option to freeze tab names (so they always show the start folder, not the current folder). Current folder name can always be seen in the window title. 9. Ability to rename tabs who's titles don't change with directory changes (or ability to change tab titles, but the change is lost if the tab title isn't set to permanent).10. Info bubbles. Configurable info bubbles based on extention. Would require ha#ving access to more file attributes like in #2.

timbzeSeptember 28, 2009
- Pros
- Very easy to manipulate files and folders; copy, move, paste. Much easier to use then windows explorer. Remembers last opened tabs and reopens them when starting program. Takes up very little disk space. Overall very handy and nice program.
- Cons
- Takes a little longer to open then windows explorer, very little. I cannot view thumbnail previews for pictures.
- Summary
- Highly recommended even though it misses a few features I would appreciate.

- Pros
- Easy, intuitive and lightweight. Makes file management a breeze. Say goodbye to cluttered and confusing desktop. Seriously.
- Cons
- None thus far
- Summary
- Just another example of how MS engineers lack vision.
Good work tool. Aesthetics are kind of bad though

- Pros
- It is a great backup file browser when explorer.exe crashes. It also is a good replacement for general use.
- Cons
- It looks pretty crappy, and the icons should be redone (no alpha layering at all to be found).
- Summary
- Get it if you're looking for the best alternative browser for Windows XP and other windows versions.Don't get it if explorer.exe doesn't crash often. I use it because I like to get rid of explorer.exe, because explorer.exe makes windows look so crude. If you get an awesome application launcher, like RkDock or Launchy, then you can say goodbye to Windows's poorly-arranged and crappy-looking start menu and other things.
Good stuff!
