Now in his fourth NFL year, Antonio Gibson has the opportunity to cash in on fantasy success for the first legitimate time since being taken in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Despite that, he is still coming off the boardwith anaverage draft position(ADP) of 10.10, despite the possibility that he has been continually hyped up by his coaching staff. Even with the possibility that he operates in all facets of the game,he qualifies as a bonafide fantasy football sleeper in PPR and non-PPR leagues this season.

The 2022 season should be a distant memory, and as we’re turning our attention to upcoming (or ongoing) fantasy drafts, Antonio Gibson is an easy candidate to outkick his ADP, making him one of the easiest sleeper running backs on the board.

While Gibson isn’t the only game in town, the departure ofJ.D. McKissicshould lead to more touches, and with formerChiefs’ OC Eric Bieniemy now calling the shots there’s plenty of upside. Bieniemy brings a more exciting and creative offensive plan to the mix and could deploy Gibson in a very similar role to what we saw withJerick McKinnonin 2022, which produced fantasy RB2 numbers.

Gibson should see enough pass volume for an RB3 floor, with RB2 upside. Of course, if anything were to happen toBrian Robinson, low-end RB1 numbers aren’t out of the question. He’s leaving Yahoo drafts as the RB38 and is 4for4’s 33rd-ranked back heading into the season.

Currently coming off of 2023 fantasy football draft boards at 10.10 as the RB38, drafters are clearly terrified of Gibson’s role within the Washington offense after he spent much of last season working on special teams. According to4for4’s projections, this is an overstated concern. Gibson is currently being projected for 40 receptions in the 2023 season, a number that sits as the 18th-highest across the entire league. If we incorporate his role in the run game between the 20s, as well as his work at the goal line, we can find ourselves an RB2 candidate in the double-digit rounds.
