Why did they change Discord mobile? ›

Late last year, we rebuilt our mobile app to help make talking with your friends way faster, way smoother, and way easier. The UI was streamlined to help you see what they're up to, start or join group chats faster, and we even added new ways to make Discord your own (you're finally official, OLED theme!).

Will there ever be a mobile (Android/iOS) version of BetterDiscord? ​ No, the mobile versions of Discord work completely differently and are not compatible with BetterDiscord.

With the revamp, the Discord app will display navigation tabs as soon as you open the app, including a separate tab for servers, messages, and notifications and a “You” tab that lets users edit their profile and settings.

Is using "Better Discord" against TOS, and will I likely get banned using it? It is against discord's TOS, but it's highly unlikely you'll get banned using it. If you really care about your account, I'd advise against using it.

Will I get banned for using Vencord? Will plugin X get me banned? Client modifications are against Discord's Terms of Service. However, Discord is pretty indifferent about them and there are no known cases of users getting banned for using client mods!

So you should generally be fine as long as you don't use plugins that bypass api restrictions or implement spammy / selfbot behaviour (mass deleting, spam plugins, etc). Regardless, if your account is very important to you and it getting disabled would be a disaster for you, you should probably not use client mods.

The most egregious issue is that if someone sends a message with a photo attached to it, the picture is now seen in the notification, which can take up the ENTIRE SCREEN. Just why?? I was typing out a message here and suddenly, I can't see anything because the Discord team thought this was a good idea to implement.

If you only use your phone to access Discord and not the desktop client, other users see a green phone icon next to your avatar instead of the solid green circle.

Can Discord track mobile games? Absolutely Not, Discord doesn't reveal the specific mobile game or app you're using on your phone. However, it does display your participation when you join a public Stage channel on the app.

Overuse of Discord: If you have a lot of Discord tabs, voice channels, and servers open, it can put a strain on your device and cause Discord to lag. Try closing some of them to see if it improves performance.
